Amazon.com owns Alexa (a small piece of the vast Amazon.com empire). As part of their many services, they keep a small backup of the internet, about 100 terabytes or so. You can rent that database and index it now, if you want.

Right now it’s prohibitively expensive to crawl through the entire database, but not if you wanted to search and retrieve certain data …

I’m not sure exactly what this could be used for, but an interesting development nonetheless …
